A little about me.....
I began taking piano lessons at age 8 with the very patient Judith Flowers. By age 15, I was studying with Dr. David Gibson, piano professor at Furman University. Meanwhile, I attended the Fine Arts Center High School for the Arts in Greenville, SC, where I studied Voice, AP Music Theory and performed with the vocal group, Spectrum (which was invited to perform at the International Music Festival in Dubrovnik!). I also play the violin, and was a member of youth orchestras in middle and high school, and spent many years in handbell choirs, as well.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Composition from Furman University. At Furman, I continued vocal studies under Dr. Trudy Fuller and Dr. Bingham Vick, singing with Furman Singers, Chamber Singers, Honeybees quartet, as well as in student coffeehouses, homecoming shows and other venues. I spent a summer performing at Brevard Music Center in NC and two summers at the Farmhouse Dinner Theater in Blowing Rock, NC, where I was also able to direct and produce musical shows. I enjoy composing music for piano, as well as songs for piano and voice.
In subsequent years, I've performed in a variety of musical theater, cabaret, and opera productions in NY, MD, CT, NC and SC. I've been a member of the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Connecticut Grand Opera Chorus, Wilton Singers and Durham Choral Society. I have also been employed by the Wilton Conservatory of Music after-school program as a voice teacher.
I currently perform with Acoustic Wilton, Wilton Rocks, Wilton Singers and the Wilton Congregational Church contemporary worship band. In addition to teaching, I work full-time as a Programming Specialist and musician at The Greens at Cannondale in Wilton, CT.
